When Belgian grocer Erik Vekeman retired, he decided that he wanted to turn part of his shop into a parking garage for his BMW. The problem is that the town he lives in, Zegelsem, East Flanders, is in the protected area of the Flemish Ardennes and local officials felt that a garage would not fit with the visual of the quaint town.
Not to be discouraged, Vekeman decided to go ahead and do it anyway. Instead of using a traditional style garage door however, the man installed a unique swing away window over top of a movable brick section to access the space.
This is pretty cool!
