When I think of R/C cars, I typically picture the Tamiya Frog that I had back in the Eighties. Quick and much more durable than previous models, it was great fun, with a top speed of maybe 30 MPH. While I still have the Frog, the Traxxas HUMMER that Robby Gordon gave me last Summer is the preferred machine these days. It is faster, but still doesn’t come close to Nic Case’s Bullet.
Assembled mostly from off the shelf parts, Bullet became the first R/C cars to break the 200 MPH barrier recently at a Radio Operated Scale Speed Association event. In fact, the small streamliner hit 202.02 MPH to clinch a new world record. The folks at Guinness have been alerted, but have not yet confirm a record in their book.
