The motorsport events hosted at Goodwood, from the Festival of Speed to the Revival and Members’ Meeting are in-arguably the most significant events of the vintage racing calendar each and every year. No other program, or group of programs, can boast such a diverse range of the most incredible vintage machinery, actually being driven in competition.
I have made one trip to the Festival and it was simply the best vintage event I have ever attended.
This highlight reel from this year’s Bruce McLaren Trophy Race, which features V8 powered sports car racers, aka Can-Am cars, shows just how hard these guys battle on the track. There is even a view of the Canadian built and Chinook-Chevrolet MK2 owned and driven by Edmonton’s Jay Esterer as it took an early lead.
The series of Chinook race cars were built in Toronto by Rudy and George Fejer and have developed a bit of a cult following in vintage racing circles.
