Anyone who knows racers knows that they tend to play hard when they are away from the track and on occasion, they get bitten.
A couple of days ago, Stewart-Haas racing issued a statement saying that the boss had been injured in a non-racing related accident.
Today they have offered up a more complete statement, which explains that Tony Stewart has “a burst fracture of the L1 vertebra” as the result of an ATV crash while on vacation on Sunday.
Play hard and stuff is bound to happen.
Things are never easy for the driver, who will now miss at least part of the 2016 season, which is planned to be his final season.
