While shooting at the recent Lone Star Le Mans at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas, I came across one of the coolest pit carts I have ever seen. Sure, race cars are cool, but I see those all the time. A vintage golf cart that looked like something George Jetson would have rocked is more my speed these days!
The owner tells me it is a 1964 Cushman Golfster 735. It has been fully restored, but there have been a few updates to make it more current. Like power.
Originally, this three wheeled would have been motivated by an 8 or 10 horsepower Kohler engine that was mated to a manual transmission. This particular version of the “shark-nosed” Golfster is motivated by a 25 horsepower Briggs & Stratton!
