By now, we have all become accustomed to watching Ken Block shred his way around the globe, but it goes without saying that the founder of DC Shoes isn’t the only one who knows how to tear it up. There are lots of talented drifters out there who could likely replicate Block’s stunts, given the chance. Then, there are those who want to tell a story with their videos, rather than just show off for the camera.
Enter Norwegian drifter Fredric Aasbo and car builder Stephan Papadakis, who is an accomplished drifter in his own right. The duo hooked up with director Michael Tiddes to create a story about a boy who finds a Scion tC drift car hiding alongside the LA River. He is then taken on the ride of his dreams by Aasbo.
The kid is Dillon Bryant Akers, who is the son of actor Howard Alonzo and the godson of Damon Wayans Jr. It is safe to say that this won’t be the last time we see this guy.
Titled #DreamrideLA, the short flick was filmed within weeks of the latest installment of Gymkhana, yet neither crew was aware of what the other was up to.
