The age old plan for wannabe racers who are looking for sponsors is to call up a bunch of businesses and ask for money to go racing. Unfortunately for those guys, racing is a business and in today’s difficult business climate, nobody is just going to fork over their precious marketing budget without knowing ahead of time that there will be a real return on their investment.
Fortunately, thanks to the internet and modern camera technologies, it is easier than ever to create fantastic content, that has the potential to spread far beyond the fans at any given race track.
The folks at Mantella Autosport, an all Canadian team in the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge, know this and do a better job than most of sharing their story.
The team’s story has been captured by Sawmill Creative, who followed drivers Anthony Mantella, Martin Barkey, Mark Wilkins and Kyle Marcelli as they battled in the second round of the 2015 season at the legendary Sebring International Raceway in a pair of Chevrolet Camaro Z-28s.
The result is a visually beautiful short film with more to it than just race cars. A story that corporate partners can be proud to share with their own clients. This is what modern sponsorship looks like.
