We the return of the Canyon/Colorado twins and the re-done Tacoma, the small/medium sized truck market wars are starting to heat up, but there is one notable player missing from the battle: Ford. Over the past couple of years I have asked Dianne Craig, President and CEO of Ford of Canada when we can expect a new Ranger on the Canadian market so many times that I think she is getting fed up with the question.
This morning at the Bangkok International Motor Show, Ford unveiled a revised Ranger, that will be sold in 180 countries, but NOT in this market. Being built in Thailand, the Ranger features all new sheet metal from the windshield forward and is being touted as the most technologically advanced pickup in those markets, including Australia.
Come on Ford – Canadians need a smaller truck option!
