We are fortunate to live in an era of spectacular sporting automobiles. Even ten years ago, 300 horsepower was the domain of supercars and such output is common among family cars. The Jaguar XF-RS is far from common, but it certainly is a family car. My kind of family car.
The Brawny British Bad Boy might be one of the most aggressive looking sedans ever to come to market, festooned with carbon fibre components including a functional rear spoiler that puts even the Subaru STI to shame. With 550 horsepower directed to the rear wheels, it has the muscle to back up the looks.
This Raucous Redcoat has all of the sport focused luxury that one would expect from a Jag, but perhaps more importantly, the layout actually works for a family. The back seat is large enough to accommodate three teenagers comfortably, while the trunk is surprisingly copious.
Sadly, my time in the XF-RS was cut short when I clipped a deep pothole and damaged a tire, so I wasn’t able to get more photos or video of the sexiest sedan ever built.
I will say that if it were available with a manual transmission, I would think that Jaguar’s engineers had persuaded aliens to probe my brain. How else could they have known that this is EXACTLY the car I need to complete my life?
