Hello Ottawa,
I have many concerns about the main bus terminal being moved to the easterly located Via Rail station. All though I would say it would be an excellent idea to add a second terminal for the Montreal bound passengers that live in the east end of the city, it should not be the main terminal as this is not fair to the passenger any where in the city, as it adds travel time not only to getting to the bus but the bus schedule it self. This is especially true for those passengers travelling to Toronto from the west end of the city.
While I could sit here and type in several reasons to argue against the terminal moving to the east end, I am not against a relocation all together. I would suggest the Lebreton flats developing area and/or the Bayview area. This is the ideal area as it is close to the downtown area. It is one of the hubs of the city that connects people via transit to Quebec, west, east, south and downtown area's. It would connect university students via the o-train to Carleton and U of O via bus, which is a big part of business.
Thank you for listening Ottawa,
Brian
