Kia Soul’ster concept

I’m not sure how I missed the reveal of Kia’s Soul’ster concept at the Detroit show because it pretty much jumped out and grabbed me when I saw it on show floor in Toronto last week. Kia showed that they really like to have some fun when they revealed the Soul and the Soul’ster takes that fun one step further. Obviously inspired by the top down fun Jeep owners can have at the beach, the Soul’ster actually looks more like the MINI Beachcomber concept.

Cars of NAIAS 2010: Lexus LF-CH

One of the most visually striking concepts at the 2010 NAIAS came from Lexus in the form of the LF-CH Hybrid concept. Whether it was the muscular hatch back shape or the striking green gold paint, this machine looks magnificent. Originally shown in the Fall of 2009 at the Frankfurt auto show, the LF-CH shows the direction that Lexus is planning for sport luxury hybrids.

After the break we have more photos and the Lexus press release from Frankfurt with more details.

GMC shows Granite concept at Detroit

The folks at GM fully acknowledge that some things needed to change at GMC. They need new, interesting products that consumers actually want. That means they need to get innovative and create some really different stuff. The Granite concept is different.

Revealed this morning at the North American International Auto Show, this little brick has drawn on industrial influences to create a fun and funky machine that combines style with function. Aimed at an active and youthful demographic, the Granite has unique seating that can be reconfigured to create a long cargo area big enough to hold a mountain bike.

More photos and GMC press release after the break.
