While the weather man was forecasting (correctly unfortunately) a rain storm of near biblical proportions for today’s testing for the Canadian Car of the Year awards, yesterday was a crisp and clear Fall day at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
Eighty of Canada’s top automotive journalists arrived on site to evaluate entries, which include 43 of the newest vehicles on the market. Vehicles are driven on a variety of segment specific courses, ranging from a a low speed handling course for small and family cars to a high speed test track for sports and performance vehicles. SUV and Crossover vehicles prove their mettle on a challenging off road course which replicates what a consumer might experience on their way to the cottage in early Spring. A tough rural Ontario trail allows the entries in the pickup truck class to show off their abilities in the dirt.
