Clearly, even Audi’s legendary Quattro all-wheel-drive can’t help stupid people who drive onto thin ice. It does however work really, really well in ski country!
To show just how well, Audi took an A4 to the steepest public street in the world, which is somewhat surprisingly in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania of all places. Once there, crews threw all kinds of crazy surface materials on Canton Avenue, transforming the 37% road into gravel road and then a ski slope.
DTM racer Mattias Ekström then got behind the wheel of the sedan to give Bene Mayr, Heikki Sorsa and Aaron Gwin a lift to the top, before racing them down the hill.
It looks like good fun was had by all, much like that time that downtown Vancouver was transformed into a wilderness scene for a Jeep commercial.
