Having made several false starts on the auto show circuit in previous years, the much anticipated next generation Acura NSX was unveiled in its production form last January at the North American International Auto show in Detroit. Somewhat overshadowed by the surprise launch of the Ford GT at that show, the NSX drew praise from the Honda/Acura faithful immediately.
Acura Canada announced today that the car will arrive in showrooms late in the Spring of 2016 with a base price of $189,900. Those who want in on the action are most likely going to be dropping a whole lot more change than that, as a fully optioned model will peak at a full quarter Million Canadian, plus another hundred bucks for good measure.
While that may seem pretty steep to some, the level of personalization that will be available when ordering an NSX is on par with other cars in the same price range, such as the 911 Turbo. Porsche sells as many of those cars as they can build, so obviously the market is there for vehicles in this category.
Ordering details are to follow soon, along with an online configurator, so the rest of us can build a virtual version of our own NSX.
