As just about every lapping, drifting and racing participant in Ontario is eagerly anticipating their first event of the season (mine is next week!), I thought it might be a great time to share this video from Clipping Point Media, which is a compilation of drift attempts gone awry from the 2014 season.
For most of us, getting out on track is as much about learning as it is about fun. As we learn, we push the envelope of performance, both the car’s and more often our own skill level. When we go beyond either, bad things can happen, especially in drifting, where the entire idea is to go beyond the limits of adhesion.
Shot at Toronto Motorsports Park, Shannonville Motorsports Park and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park, this raw footage is a bunch of fun to watch, but don’t be too quick to judge these guys and girls. They are doing it at the track, where they belong and despite what you armchair critics think, drifting isn’t as easy as you might think!
